Gandhi Memorial National (G.M.N) College, Ambala Cantt was founded after the partition of the country in 1948 by a great visionary, philanthropist and academician Shri Jaswant Rai who was the Principal of the erstwhile D.A.V. College Rawalpindi (Pakistan). The college had its modest beginning in a building with thatched roofs and today it is located in a beautiful 9.5 acres campus with 19 courses of study in Arts, Science and Commerce at UG and PG level. The college is now being run by G.M.N.College Trust and Management Society which promotes social and national fervor. The college takes pride in its illustrious alumni – Padam Shri Prof. Satyavrat Shastri, Padam Veer Chakra Vijaya Ratan, Veer Chakra Capt. Chintu Gogai, Prof. Bhisham Sahani, Dr. Amanpreet Duggal IPS-to name a few.
