About Us

Established in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, in 1948, GMN College today has emerged as one of the premier institutions in the region. Founded by a visionary, late Sh. Jaswant Rai, the college aims at holistic development of the students by providing a liberal, secular education by making them aware of the pride and of the varied heritage of the nation. In addition to providing education in the traditional subjects, the college has kept pace with the changing times and arranged for education in career oriented courses like Mass Communication, Human Resource Development, Foreign Trade, Taxes and Procedures, Insurance, and unorthodox courses like, Functional English, Guidance & Counseling and Script Writing, Electronics and Computer Applications.

With the introduction of the New Education Policy, the complexion of higher education is changing fast. With the expansion of knowledge, more subjects and greater avenues are opening up for the students. The Placement Cell and Guidance Bureau have been established to help the parents and the students to discuss the implications of various subject combinations and to decide upon the branches and faculties best suited to the natural abilities and aptitudes of the students. The students and the parents are advised to meet the Career Counselling Cell before seeking admission.

You have thoughts bubbling every moment; emotions that need expression; talent to create something new; so, contact the editors of a Gandhi Path” -a magazine with a difference that expresses you and you only.

The Education Policy lays much emphasis on the relationship of the youth with the wider community outside the institution. National Service Scheme offers opportunities to the student-volunteers to inculcate and imbibe the sense of dignity of labour and service to the community. The students are provided opportunity to attend NSS camps and interact with rural community. This gives them first hand information of how and where the real India lives. NSS covers a vast area of human experience that is very important for the informal education of a young man or woman.
